How bidding works
For dealers
- Browse approved cars — every bid box shows your all-in cost before you bid.
- Put a card on file before your first bid. You're not charged unless you win — then a deposit of 5% of your winning bid is charged right away and is non-refundable if you back out.
- Place your bid; if the seller accepts, your 5% lock-in deposit secures the deal. The deposit is credited toward the purchase at closing, refunded if the seller rejects or the deal cannot close, and forfeited only if you walk away from an accepted bid.
- Pay the 3% buyer fee at closing (min $5,000, cap $25,000) plus the Escrow.com fee at published rates.

For sellers
- Submit your car free — every listing is reviewed and approved before launch, including a market check on your minimum.
- Verified dealers bid while your auction is live.
- You have 48 hours to accept or reject the top bid — you are never forced to sell.
- Your car stays with you until Escrow.com is funded, and you receive 100% of the accepted bid.

Anti-snipe rule
If a bid is placed in the final 2 minutes, the auction extends by 2 minutes. This repeats until no new bids arrive.
After a bid is accepted
The winning dealer pays the 5% lock-in, then the purchase proceeds through Escrow.com. Auto Connect coordinates the transaction, with funds held in escrow until the agreed transaction conditions are met.
The Bid-Ready Standard
Every approved auction includes:
- VIN and CARFAX
- Title and lien status
- Service records
- 150-point inspection
- Cold-start and walkaround video
- Known flaws disclosed
- Transport quote
- AI-assisted market analysis used to set the minimum bid
